What is an air-operated lubrication pump?
The air-operated lubrication pump is a piston grease pump driven by compressed air, spring return and reciprocating motion. Air-operated lubrication pumps are powered by compressed air. Pneumatic pumps provide pulse-free, stable fluid flow suitable for chromatographic analysis systems. Pneumatic amplification pumps utilizing the pneumatic amplification principle can quickly obtain the required high outlet pressure and provide large output flow, which is particularly suitable for homogenization packed columns. The disadvantages of air-operated pumps are the large volume of the cylinder, the inconvenience of replacing the mobile phase, and gradient elution cannot be achieved without the use of two such pumps.
Features of pneumatic lubrication:
1. It is powered by compressed air, which is an expansion and heat absorption process when exhausting, and the temperature of the pneumatic pump is reduced when working, and no harmful gases are discharged, so the pump will not overheat.
2. No electric spark: the pneumatic diaphragm pump does not use electricity as power, and prevents electrostatic sparks after grounding
3. Positive displacement type work and the inlet is a ball valve, which can pass through the particle-containing liquid, so it is not easy to be blocked.
4. How to suck in and how to spit out during work, so the agitation of the material is minimal, which is suitable for the transportation of unstable substances.
5. A throttle valve can be installed at the material outlet to adjust the flow.
6. It has the function of self-priming.
7. The fluids that can be transported are extremely wide, from low viscosity to high viscosity, from corrosive to viscous.
8. Small size, light weight, easy to move.
9. It will not pollute the working environment due to drip, does not require lubrication and is easy to maintain.
The working principle of the pneumatic pump:
It relies on compressed air as power, and when the diaphragm is under high pressure air, it moves to the designated position with the diaphragm. The valve controls the slow flow of compressed air into the space behind the diaphragm. After the compressed air pushes the diaphragm, it moves away from the intermediate, and the diaphragm moves to the intermediate by using the connection of the connecting rod. On the other side, the diaphragm uses the medium in the squeezed membrane chamber to flow hydraulically on the valve ball at the inlet, driving the contact between the valve seat and the valve ball to close the inlet pipeline. The hydraulic force acts on the ball valve at the outlet to open the outlet line. The ball valve at the outlet is closed after being pressured, and the ball valve at the inlet opens due to the pressure, and the liquid flows into the pump chamber. When the stroke ends, compressed gas is filled again behind the diaphragm, the diaphragm begins to move towards the intermediate, and the rest behind the diaphragm is also discharged out of the pump.
